straight to the skull

It hits just like a bowling ball
A hundred pounds straight to the skull
Such force could bring a god to knees
But touches soft like a warm breeze
This touch may burn into a flame
Which blazes on for countless days
And keeps a wand'ring soul enmeshed
The closest thing it knows to rest
This cradle dissolves all old fears
Sinks them at end of the pier
Drowns them, leaves them for the dogs
Forgets the names they had been called
A future filled with sights to see
Entrancing, it's sweet melody
Blind eyes are opened to the sun
A world is realized; life's begun.
